High Falls State Park
Family Time at High Falls
I had driven past the High Falls State Park sign so many times on I-75. In my head, I was thinking we should stop there sometime. So when we planned our summer road trip, I knew we where gonna stop here.
I’m so glad we did. It was beautiful and flowing with a good amount of water. We first went on a search for it ourselves and found a back trail that passed a cool Graffitied building. I didn’t even think to take a picture of it (Bummer, I guess theres next time). On the trail we did find some cool areas. These crazy huge pipes below an old bridge. And then there was these pipes that you could walk all the way down.
.
I did end up really liking the view from this little trail we found! Hearing the water flow we came out of the brushy trail to see the big waterfall. The greenery abounding in all areas around us. We found a perfect log to sit on for a moment.
Maximus and Eliana climbing all around checking out the area! They where absolutely loving it.
They where running around discovering everything they could and I was freaking out that they would slip and fall into the swift currant!
We all cleaned our muddy shoes the best we could and loaded back into the car. We found the right spot to park and take the right trail down to High Falls.
This was another amazing bountiful area with greenery, rocks and water rushing all around!
We all just explored and enjoyed nature together! It was a relaxing area.
After we had enjoyed the Falls for some time we headed back up the trail. The kids got to play on the nice playground beside the river and another falls area.
We wanted to camp here for the night but needed to get more miles in on our road trip to make it up to the lake house in time for Family reunion. I would love to come back again and enjoy the area and relax with the family.
I would recommend stopping at this beautiful State Park north of Macon Georgia. It is off of I-75 and was easy to get to. They offer Camping and yurts and during the Summer guest may cool off in the parks swimming pool! Also High falls Lake is recognized as one of the Nations Top family fishing destinations. I did not know that, Sounds like there is a lot more to explore here.
